Do we really want to be laughed at by the whole world? Not enough to have our honour broken? Our national team looks like an ancient glory that now has become alcoholic and that is just the shadow of itself!

On a field about which was very much talked these last few days, the Red Devils started this friendly game with the brothers Mpenza as strikers. However the first occasion was Egyptian with Aboutraika, left alone near the Belgian box. Fortunately his attempt was not dangerous. At the 8th, Clément could not avoid a dangerous Egyptian centre.

A minute later, the brothers Mpenza got a good chance but the Egyptian goalkeeper Nader (ex-Bruges) was very focused. Then the game got easier for the Red Devils who took advantage of the midfield. However, at the 14th, Meteeb nearly scored a goal for his team. The best occasions were obviously for the Eyptians. The Red Devils only tried to keep the draw and played on a false rythm.

At the 20th, Silvio Proto made an outstanding stop and gave his coach the confirmation that he had made the good choice of goalkeepers. A few minutes later, the refferee wrongly cancelled a goal scored by Buffel who had made a good job before with Kompany. No off-side on the slow-motion, but the refferee took another decision...

Then, Baseggion punctuated a good action with Emile Mpenze and De Cock with a shot in the clouds. It is unfortunate that the Belgians could not then score a goal. After exactly 30 minutes, the brothers Mpenza made again an outstanding action, with Emile's dynamyte shot on Nader.

The Egyptians, with Malek, were still very dangerous, but not realist enough in the Belgian box. However, on their third dangerous action, the Egyptians could score a goal (Meteeb), after a big mistake of the Belgian central axis. In the last five minutes of the 1st half time, the Belgians could not go over the mid of the ground.

So, in a balanced and nice match to watch, the Red Devils showed again their difficulty to cope with a faster and more "technical" team. They showed their envy to win, but they made too many mistakes and approximations...

At the 49th, Meteeb scored again for his team, with an outstanding shot that left Proto helpless (2-0). Clément shouted to his partners, it was however his man who had just scored. Three minutes later on, Malek killed the helpless Proto and the Belgian defenders (3-0). What else can we add to this? That the Belgian team is again ridicule, slow and unable to play football?

At the 61th, Buffel did not take his responsability and gave the ball to Mbo whose shot came just over the goal. Earlier before, Kompany, Baseggio and De Cock were substituted by Doll, Bisconti and Daerden. Mbo was stopped again by the Egyptian keeper. The Belgians played then a bit better but could however not score. Mbo was then replacec by Pieroni, Anthuenis deciding to take out the most dangerous of the two brothers...

Nothing more to say except this Egyptian goal 10 minutes before the end (4-0), our defenders being again ghostly. This incapability to counter the attacks and to play consistently made the Belgians sick.

This friendly game (before the crucial match this month) is therefore a kind of catastrophe. Why? Because of the bad condition of the ground? Just a little bit then...On paper, the team seemed to be good but on the ground, this revealed to be something totally different...Should the coach be blamed? Asking this question...
