RSC Anderlecht is showing interest in Jan Ziolkowski, a 19-year-old central defender from Legia Warsaw. At 1.94 meters tall, Ziolkowski is a standout player, having started in Legia's U19 and before that played at MKS Polonia. This season he has played 11 games, accounting for 573 minutes of playing time, in which he gave one assist. Tajaouart, who has played with the club's youth teams since 2013, is proud of this decision and emphasizes the club's interest in his development. Seventeen-year-old Pau Cubarsi of FC Barcelona tops the list, followed by Ordonez and Simic. Simic initially received some criticism, but in recent months has emerged as a strong, reliable defender. Certain newspapers are reporting that Killian Sardella is still not able to train full time with the group after all. The defender is said to be still suffering from some discomfort which makes his appearance against Racing Genk very doubtful. The U23 of Sporting Anderlecht are no longer in danger of relegation after their victory against Lierse. Coach Jelle Coen indicated that this is the first time the team has managed to reach this position. “We dominated the match and the victory is therefore justified,” Coen said. He noted that Lierse applied more pressure in the second half, but that Anderlecht were lucky with a ball on the post and an effort that was just turned away on the line. Read more »
The RSCA Futures earned a convincing victory over Lierse, with a final score of 2-0. This victory gave the Futures a jump in the standings, putting them in 12th place. The goals were scored by Tajaouart in the 2nd minute and Ure in the 20th minute, both of whom provided a strong start to the match. From Nov. 24 to Dec. 2, the Moroccan national U15 team will take part in an international tournament in Alicante, Spain. Anderlecht players Ilyas Bounahr and Ilyas Bennane are in the Moroccan selection. Morocco will play matches against Spain and Mexico at the tournament. Read more »
Nilsson Angulo made a big impact at RSCA Futures last weekend. Against Lokeren-Temse, he showed why he was selected for Ecuador's national team. He dominated the left flank and constantly tested Lokeren's defense. Despite a shot on the crossbar in the first half, he found the net in the 60th minute and led his team to a 0-1 victory. Romelu Lukaku could not attend Hubert Lemaire's book launch at Anderlecht yesterday, but the two men had already met last Friday in Tubize. In front of a crowd of supporters at the fan shop, Hubert Lemaire shared his passion and talked about the many years he has devoted to the youth of purple and white. His book, with 220 pages full of anecdotes, is on sale in the fanshop and better bookstores.
Mario Stroeykens played the full match for Belgium's U21 against the Czech Republic, but the young Red Devils had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The Devils took the lead and then were denied another clear penalty kick. An own-goal later decided the game. The outward game was lost 0-2, missing Euro U21.
Jan-Carlo Simic remained on the bench with Serbia taking on Denmark in the Nations League, while Kasper Dolberg was substituted in the 70th minute after picking up yellow. The match ended in a 0-0 draw, allowing Denmark to qualify for the next round, while Serbia must complete a playoff to remain in League A. Mario Stroeykens played the full match for Belgium U21 against the Czech Republic. However, Belgium suffered a 0-2 blowout and see their chances of qualifying for Euro U21 dwindle. Jan-Carlo Simic remained on the bench for Serbia in their draw against Switzerland. Kasper Dolberg came onto the pitch in the 79th minute of the match between Denmark and Spain. Denmark lost 1-2.
Three Anderlecht U23 players Ludo Wola-Wetshay, Kais Barry and Nathan De Cat have been selected by national coach Jonathan Alves for the Euro U19 qualifying tournament. The Belgian team will face Bulgaria, Lithuania and England from 13 to 19 November. Bulgaria is the host country of the tournament.
Although he was in the pre-selection, Killian Sardella did not receive a first invitation to the Red Devils on Friday. After the game against Cercle Brugge, the right-back was frankly straightforward: ‘Of course I'm disappointed. I had expected to be there.'
(Yet) no selection for the Red Devils for Killian Sardella. The Anderlecht right-back, like Mario Stroeykens, has been called up for the national U21. The fact that Sardella is an important player there played a part in national coach Domenico Tedesco's choice.
The Belgian U18 squad, led by coach David Penneman, will participate in a friendly tournament in Spain. Two Anderlecht players, Jarne Flies and Nunzio Engwanda-Ongena, have been included in the selection. The Belgian squad will take on Germany on Nov. 15, and a second opponent has yet to be confirmed for the match on Nov. 18.
RSC Anderlecht's U19 achieved a 2-0 victory against RWDM in the Belgian Cup. The return match will take place at RWDM's field on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025. The goals were scored by Sylla and De Corte.
