Relief at Lotto Park after victory

Anderlecht beat Eupen 4-2 this afternoon. The home team led 2-0 early on, but then refused to finish Eupen off completely. The Pandas then came back into the match before half-time through an unfortunate own-goal by Hoedt. Refaelov seemed to redeem Anderlecht after halftime with the 3-1, but immediately afterwards Peeters surprised with a free-kick that still made Anderlecht cringe again. The recovered Ait El Hadj crowned his good performance with a fine 4-2 which Purple and White did not relinquish. Read more »

Anderlecht got stuck at 2-2 against the weak FCSB from Romania. Purple and white certainly did not play well, but they were the best team and took the lead twice. After halftime, the Romanians equalized each time after easily avoidable goals. If West Ham loses to Silkeborg tonight, Anderlecht will be eliminated from Europe. But this team doesn't have much to look for in Europe at the moment.
