Zeno Debast spoke to the press for the first time today as a Red Devil. The 18-year-old Anderlecht defender exudes calmness, but was already looking his eyes out. "Whether I was starstruck? Anderlecht found its way back to victory after getting one out of 12 in the league. It won with 4-1 against Kortrijk and led with 1-0 at halftime after a goal of Verschaeren. After halftime, a good Ashimeru headed his team to 2-0. A clumsy counter-goal brought the West Flemish back into the match for a few minutes, but Vertonghen and Refaelov (on penalty) removed all doubts. Anderlecht has lost once again. It went down deservedly with 2-1 in Westerlo that already scored after 5 minutes. Anderlecht didn't create any chances until Esposito, with a nice goal, leveled the score after the break. But in the final phase, Westerlo countered to the 2-1. Benito Raman was not selected last night for the European game. He injured his ankle and it's not certain that he will be able to play for Anderlecht in the game against Westerlo on Sunday. On Wednesday, Raman had not yet participated in training. No doubt the medical staff of RSCA will not take any risks with the striker. Read more »

Yari Verschaeren is back after being out for a few days with the stomach flu. During halftime, he was brought in for Anouar Ait El Hadj. Fifteen minutes later he scored but it was flagged for offside although Verschaeren himself thinks it was not offside. Read more »

Anderlecht seems to like to hold on to certainties in soccer lately. After the traditional defeat against Union and the failure to win against Gent, there was again no victory against OHL. It's been five games since the purple and white team won against Leuven. OHL climbed into the lead and Anderlecht equalized quite late through the young Duranville. But Leuven unexpectedly struck again after Diawara was asleep, but luckily Silva was able to save a point for Anderlecht that could only really threaten in the last half hour.
