Anderlecht itself does not start its European campaign until the end of July. Purple-White must survive a lot of preliminary rounds and finally get into the League Phase of the Europa League. The first obstacle is the Swedish Häcken or the Slovakian Trnava. The latter club is not entirely unknown to Anderlecht. In the 2018-2019 season, purple-white experienced a solid slip against the unknown Slovaks: it lost 1-0 in the Europa League. At home, it came no further than a 0-0 draw. In the Gold Cup final, Mexico won 1-2 over the United States. Cesar Huerta entered the field in the 87th minute. The Mexican team turned a 1-0 deficit into a victory.
