A new game, a new player injured. This time it's all about Yari Verschaeren. The midfielder came down unfortunate and hurt his shoulder. Although he scored afterwards, he remained in the locker room at halftime. Read more »

In the sixth match of the Europa League, RSC Anderlecht faces an important challenge with an away match against Slavia Prague. The Belgian club needs a good result to stay in the top eight of the league, which would mean direct qualification for the next round without playoffs. Coach David Hubert, however, must miss several key players. Jan Vertonghen, Thorgan Hazard, Mario Stroeykens, Killian Sardella, Majeed Ashimeru, Samuel Edozie, Tristan Degreef and Marco Kana are all injured or rehabbing. After an eight-month absence due to injury, Thorgan Hazard looks set to celebrate his return to the field. The Anderlecht player could make his return during the last home game of the year, on Dec. 27 against Dender. With the injuries to Killian Sardella and Mario Stroeykens, that would be a welcome reinforcement. The RSCA Futures suffered a disappointing defeat against Club NXT after a six-game unbeaten streak. The team started the second half weakly, resulting in a 3-0 loss. Louis Patris played the full match for Sint-Truiden against Ghent. Unfortunately, STVV had to settle for a 2-0 defeat, which currently leaves them in 13th place in the standings; a relegation spot. Anderlecht had to toil until the very last minute against Beerschot. It eventually won deservedly 2-1 with a goal by Anders Dreyer in minute 92. Anderlecht played very weak before halftime and could breathe a sigh of relief when Verschaeren (also in extra time) netted the equalizer just before halftime after Al-Sahafi (him again) had headed Beerschot into the lead early. Despite Westerlo taking an early lead with Van den Keybus capitalizing on lax defending, Anderlecht quickly equalized through Zanka's controlled strike. With the international break coming to an end, Belgium qualified for the European Championships, the RSCA Women turn their attention to the Cup. This weekend they have an important match on the schedule, taking on Club YLA on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 3 p.m. The match will take place at the RSCA Academy and will be conducted by referee Leandro Ledda. Colin Coosemans took issue with his fellow player Kasper Dolberg after missing an important chance during the game against OHL: “A striker cannot capitalize on every chance in a game.” Coosemans, who achieved his eighth clean sheet of the season, is satisfied with his performance. Nevertheless, he stressed that good statistics are not his only focus.

After the draw between Anderlecht and FC Porto (2-2) on Thursday, in which Wenderson Galeno scored a goal, the Brazilian outfielder took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the Porto fans in Belgium via social media.
