Anderlecht lost 2-1 at Club Brugge. Purple and white were outplayed the entire match by a more aggressive Bruges that failed to extend the score several times. Anderlecht hardly played an attack together but in the closing stages it suddenly became exciting after Simic mitigated. In the final minute, both Vazquez and Zanka could have scored. Zanka's chance in particular should have always ended up in goal.

Anderlecht made a serious fool of themselves by losing 2-1 at Beerschot which barely counted two points so far. Anderlecht did have most of the goal attempts, but ran on a counter before and after halftime in which very poor defense. It is typical that Dolberg provided the equalizer from a penalty kick after halftime, because Purple-White did not really get any clear-cut chances after halftime. A very painful defeat that could lead to a free fall in the standings, especially with the away game to Club Brugge coming up.
