Brian Riemer called 25 players to the Lotto Park yesterday afternoon for an open training session. Good news on the pitch, Marco Kana gave everything during training. Hannes Delcroix is still in rehabilitation while Anders Dreyer was absent due to illness. Benito Raman, who had to drop out sick against Standard, was present.

Anderlecht let win slip after half-time

The classico ended at 2-2 after an enjoyable game. Standard took the lead before the quarter-hour mark with some luck. Anderlecht responded before half-time and through Slimani they climbed up and over Standard. After half-time, Anderlecht had a strong period with some chances, but it was Standard that scored through Sardella who handled a cross unhappily into his own goal. Anderlecht do not get off to a terrible start with this point, especially with difficult matches ahead against Gent and Cercle, direct opponents for the top eight. Read more »

Anderlecht play draw in animated match

Anderlecht drew 2-2 in Kortrijk and with that it has to be satisfied. In a very open match, Anderlecht played an excellent first quarter of an hour, but spilled with chances. Kortrijk got better in the match, but Dreyer opened the scoring with a clever placing ball. After half-time, Kortrijk climbed up and over Purple and White who gave the match away. In the end, a Kortrijk misunderstanding still resulted in Murillo's equaliser. Anderlecht remains in the running for a place in the top eight. Read more »

Anderlecht secures victory in second half

Anderlecht deservedly won 3-1 against a stiff STVV. Anderlecht had plenty of ball possession before half-time, but failed to score. After half-time, Anderlecht stepped up a gear on the hour. With a bit of luck, Raman opened the scoring after a long ball from Debast. In the closing stages Anderlecht climbed to 3-0 through goals by Slimani and Dreyer. STVV mitigated with a nice shot by Bruno. With this win, Anderlecht hooks the middle of the pack and is again in the running for the top eight. Read more »

Anderlecht secured another point against Antwerp. It did not play a bad game, but was stranded on its own attacking limitations. It did not create a single real chance in the whole match, despite good will. Verbruggen was needed at the other end though to prevent Antwerp from scoring. After half-time, both Stengs and Raman (twice yellow) were ruled out. An important triptych now awaits Anderlecht with matches against Ostend, STVV and Kortrijk. Read more »
