YOUTH Belgium have reached the final of the U17 European Championship. This afternoon in the semi-final they beat France 2-1. Anderlecht players Jayden Onia Seke and Ilyas Benktib scored the Young Red Devils' goals. INTERVIEWS On the sidelines of the unveiling of the new shirt for next season, CEO Kenneth Bornauw also provided an update on the search for a new coach. OTHER Fifty years after the partnership began, Adidas officially returns to RSC Anderlecht's shirt. The Brussels club unveiled on Thursday its new home kit for the 2026–2027 season, in a carefully staged mise-en-scène by directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. To mark the renewal of the contract, RSCA entrusted the presentation video to the two film-world icons. TRANSFERS Anderlecht is exploring international options to strengthen its squad, and this time the rumour points to Romania. According to journalist Lorenzo Lepore, RSCA is tracking Mihai Lixandru (24), a defensive midfielder for FCSB who has been a regular and one of the club's most consistent performers in recent seasons. This campaign he featured in 44 matches, scored four goals and provided three assists. OTHER After his somewhat surprising substitute appearance for Morocco in a World Cup warm-up friendly, Anderlecht player Ali Maamar will not be heading off on holiday just yet. Maamar has been named to the World Cup squad as a provisional replacement for Genk's El Ouahdi, who is currently facing visa problems and has so far been unable to travel to the US with the Moroccan team. Morocco are of course working to resolve the issues in time, so it remains uncertain whether Maamar will actually feature at the World Cup. Read more »
1B The Pro League has revoked the decision that reserve teams could not be relegated. From next season the RSCA Futures can therefore drop to the First Amateur Division, so given this season's poor showing this is something to take into serious account during the transfer window. With this move the Pro League avoids a €12 million fine, although the top clubs were unhappy about it. Reserve teams could indeed be relegated, but then another reserve side would have to be promoted so that the total number of reserve teams would be preserved. Read more »
