Interest in Egyptian Talent

Interest in Egyptian Talent

Anderlecht is reportedly showing interest in Hossam Abdelmeguid, a 24 year old centre back from Zamalek who made a name for himself in Europe during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The tournament looks set to become a springboard for the young Egyptian, but his club will want a proper fee. As an undisputed starter, Abdelmeguid drew attention with his physical presence and reading of the game. His profile — a modern defender, dominant in duels and comfortable in build up play — immediately attracted interest from several clubs at home and abroad. Read more »

Anderlecht stuck at 0-0 again

Anderlecht stuck at 0-0 again

The rebirth of Anderlecht remains, for now, a one?hit wonder, because in the league we again saw the uninspired Anderlecht of recent weeks. Controversial goal leads to another defeat

Controversial goal leads to another defeat

Anderlecht lost again, this time 2-0 in Genk. A contentious goal in the 68th minute set the tone for the defeat: a clear foul on Saliba in the build-up was not punished, and shortly afterwards Genk doubled their lead. Anderlecht hardly looked like turning the game around and only mustered a chance in stoppage time. This time Anderlecht were not to blame for an individual error or a poor spell; they were unlucky with a refereeing decision. Read more »
