Anderlecht finally picked up a win. They came away from Zulte Waregem with a 4-2 victory, courtesy of a Hazard hat-trick. Despite the four goals, it was no easy evening for the visitors: an enterprising home side fashioned several chances. Anderlecht led 0-3 at half-time, but a sluggish second half remained tense after a quick 1-3 until Hazard restored some calm with 1-4. In added time Zulte Waregem scored once more. Read more »
Yet another D-day tomorrow for Anderlecht in the league. After the cup euphoria came another disappointing league performance last weekend. Anderlecht travels to Zulte Waregem tomorrow, a side that has beaten the purple-and-white 3-2 in each of their last three encounters. If Anderlecht does not want to seriously jeopardize its chances of the Champions' play-offs, it must finally win — and it must finally find the net again in the JPL. Read more »

At the end of 2024 Nunzio Engwanda got a few tastes of Anderlecht's first team. Afterwards he faded from view, but with the RSCA Futures he remains a key player. In a conversation with Het Nieuwsblad he comes across as ambitious but patient. "My goal is to make the first team and I am convinced that RSCA Futures is the ideal route to get there." "I'm satisfied with the progress I've already made," says the youngest of the Engwanda brothers. Read more »
Anderlecht have now gone seven competitive matches without a win. Since the Second World War that has happened only three times, Het Nieuwsblad found. The rebirth of Anderlecht remains, for now, a one?hit wonder, because in the league we again saw the uninspired Anderlecht of recent weeks. The team had a brief better spell in each half during which it, especially after the break, could and should have scored through Camara and Sikan. Once again a major disappointment, because La Louvière never threatened at all. The purple and whites have now gone four league matches without scoring. Read more »

Three key positions are currently vacant at Anderlecht: sports director, head coach, and head of youth development. Jean Kindermans is the leading candidate for the latter position. Anderlecht lost again, this time 2-0 in Genk. A contentious goal in the 68th minute set the tone for the defeat: a clear foul on Saliba in the build-up was not punished, and shortly afterwards Genk doubled their lead. Anderlecht hardly looked like turning the game around and only mustered a chance in stoppage time. This time Anderlecht were not to blame for an individual error or a poor spell; they were unlucky with a refereeing decision. Read more »

Anderlecht lost 0-1 in the first leg of the Croky Cup semi-final. Antwerp will be the most aggrieved: they finished the match with nine men after red cards for Sardella (second yellow) and Diarra. It created only half-chances, meaning a near-miracle will be required next week at the Bosuil. Read more »

Anderlecht lost the 'clasico' 2-0 and have collected just two points out of fifteen now. Standard, the side that showed more commitment, took full advantage twice of poor defending from the Mauves: once around the half-hour mark, once just after the break. Anderlecht can be caught up with on the next matchday. Read more »

Anderlecht ended its collaboration with 19-year-old defender Yasin Özcan after six months, deeming the arrangement neither sportingly nor financially viable. Özcan had arrived on loan from Aston Villa for a total fee of €300,000; only half of that (€150,000) was paid, the remaining tranche was waived due to the premature departure. Anderlecht also covered an annual salary of roughly €1 million; because Özcan left after half a season, the club reportedly saved about €450,000 in wage costs. In total, his stay is estimated to have cost Anderlecht around €700,000 (approximately €150,000 in loan fees and €550,000 in wages), while Özcan was scarcely used. Read more »
