Anderlecht loses against Dender

Anderlecht loses against Dender

Anderlecht slipped considerably with a sour 2-3 defeat against Dender. It started very weak and was soon behind. Purple-White got better into the game and after half an hour it had scored twice itself through Verschaeren and Dreyer. But after halftime Anderlecht, with a substituted Hazard, dropped away completely and Dender punished the lax and too self-confident attitude of Purple-White in the closing stages. Anderlecht only had a few chances after that, but they could not avoid the painful defeat. Purple-White urgently needs to recover in January. Read more »

Frutos: 'Hubert has made Dolberg better'

Kasper Dolberg has understood his responsibilities within Anderlecht's team, according to Nicolas Frutos. In addition to his technical skills, the striker has now developed a positive mindset, thanks in part to the guidance of David Hubert. Under Brian Riemer's previous policy, Dolberg had to put a lot of energy into secondary tasks, such as dropping back into the game and filling spaces on the sides. This led to a less efficient use of his qualities.

Anderlecht takes deserved win in Limburg

Anderlecht takes deserved win in Limburg

Anderlecht returned from St-Truiden with a 0-2 win. Purple and white didn't play great, but it had enough of Dolberg's strikers to settle the score in their favor tonight. The Dane scored once in each half (from the spot after halftime). A (unjustified?) red card by Zanka still forced Anderlecht on the defensive, but STVV didn't get any big chances, although they did regularly create danger with crosses and shots from distance.  Read more »
